Prince Rupert offers a number of opportunities for recreating in our City, and is a great stepping off point for other regional opportunities. Our Recreation Complex, run by the City’s Recreation Department, offers a number of services, facilities and courses. Residents can also access our Recreation Access Program, which endeavors to provide access to our facilities for all individuals and families, at reduced or no cost.

This Spring Break, Prince Rupert Recreation invites you to partake in the Great Green Gumboot Hunt! The event will run from Sunday, March 14th to Sunday, March 28th. During this time, use the clues provided to search for the hidden green gumboot at different sites around the community. Clues will be announced on the Prince Rupert Recreation’s Facebook page at 10am on Sundays and Thursdays (March 14th, 18th, 21st, and 25th). Simply head out, locate the boot, snap a photo, and place a pin on our interactive map as proof. All pins will be entered into a draw to win Recreation Complex admissions.

Hunt Rules:

  • As you are out hunting, please be sure to keep a 2-meter distance from other individuals and families
  • Please do not touch the boot once you find it, but do take a photo
  • Place a pin on our interactive map and upload a photo to show us where you found the boot to be entered into the draw for prizes
