Week of Free Activities for All Ages to Encourage Movement From January 19th– 25th

PRINCE RUPERT, JANUARY 13th, 2026 – The event calendar for our 2nd Annual Northern Savings Credit Union Unplug & Play is officially ready, and it’s packed with exciting FREE activities for our community!

Thanks to the generous support of our key sponsor, Northern Savings Credit Union, as well as the many participating organizations and individual event sponsors, the Unplug and Play event will offer over 40 diverse activities – up from 23 last year. Free programs range from everything to swordplay, website development, art meet ups and lessons, skating, water polo, bingo and yoga.

This jam packed week of events has been coordinated not only to get people moving and off of their devices, but to promote physical literacy, mental, and emotional well-being. This is part of the Recreation Department’s broader commitment to promoting physical literacy in the community – building confidence and skills for residents of all ages and abilities to feel confident in moving their bodies.

We hope that you’ll take advantage of all of the fun events offered and thank you to our many community partners for working with us to make this happen.

For the full event schedule, see below. Details on each event are also listed on the dedicated page of our website at: princerupert.ca/unplugandplay. The vast majority of events are completely FREE to attend, unless noted with an asterix in the calendar, and some registration may be required.
