Holiday Waste Pick Up Impacts

Type(s)
News Release

The holidays are upon us! It's the most wonderful time of the year - and also the most likely time to miss waste pick up. That's why we're taking a minute to remind folks that all garbage/recycling will come a day earlier the week of December 16th (next week) for all standard Prince Rupert waste pick up routes to account for the Christmas holidays.

In addition, people in the pink/white routes (usual Tuesday pick up) will have two pick-ups the week of December 16th - one on Monday and one on Friday, and no pick up the following week due to the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays. In the week of the 23rd, folks with usual pick up on Wednesday (dark blue/orange zones) and Thursdays (light blue/red zones) will be two days earlier on the, and the green/yellow zone will be it's regular Friday pick up. To check which route you're in and to see all of that information visually - which probably makes it make more sense, head to: https://www.princerupert.ca/services/garbage-and-recycling Regular pick up for these routes will resume the week of December 30th.

Pick up for the (non-standard) routes serviced by the "Little Red" truck will be the standard Monday/Thursday the week of December 16th, and Monday pick up routes will remain the same the week of the 23rd. The Thursday route the week o the 23rd will be a day later on the 27th (Friday) instead of the usual Thursday. Regular pick up for this route will resume the week of December 30th.

All of that is a lot of information to just try to remember from Facebook. You know what works better? The Recycle Coach app! Download it to your phone and subscribe to alerts to be directly reminded the day before pick up!
