Notice of Public Budget Consultations March 22nd and April 12th

Wed, March 10, 2021

The City is looking to engage with residents about the 2021 budget, as we plan for our next five year budget cycle from 2021 to 2025. We have a busy five years ahead, with major infrastructure renewal in the works. Each budget season, we work hard to balance our community’s many needs and priorities, while continuing to maintain existing services levels.

The City’s proposed operational budget for 2021 was presented at the March 8th Council meeting, with public consultations scheduled for March 22nd and April 12th at 7 pm during the Regular Council meeting. Given the PHO orders currently in effect, please email questions to finance@princerupert.ca before 4pm on the dates noted above. Questions will be read during the Council meeting and answers provided.

Budget information for the 2021 Budget season is not only shared through Council and in the previously noted consultation at the Council meetings. We have also provided a Budget Document here: Proposed 5 Year Financial Plan

A budget presentation here: 2021 Budget Presentation

And this year we have launched a budget simulation here: City of Prince Rupert 2021 Proposed Budget Simulation

Information received from the public via email or through the simulation will be shared with Council before the budget is formally adopted.
