Annual Report Available

At its meeting of June 10th, 2019 Council received the 2018 Annual Report and approved it for circulation. Prince Rupert City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole Meeting on Monday, June 24th, 2019 at City Hall, at 7:00 p.m., where there will be opportunity for public comment on the 2018 Annual Report. 

Construction on McBride Street Starting Monday, June 10th

Construction and associated traffic impacts on McBride Street will begin on Monday, June 10th, following Seafest weekend. This critical work will replace an aged watermain, with the primary area impacted being the intersection of 6th Avenue and Mcbride, where there will be single lane traffic only. Signage will placed at McBride and 3rd Ave and near Hays Creek bridge to notify the community regarding traffic pattern directives. Construction is anticipated to last 4-6  weeks.

RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC THAT Council hereby declares that the meeting held at 5:00 p.m. on June 10, 2019 is to be closed to the public and that the basis of this closure is that the item(s) on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:

90.1 (b) personal information about an identifiable individual who is being considered for a municipal award or honour, or who has offered to provide a gift to the municipality on condition of anonymity.


June is Recreation and Parks Month!

PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – At last Monday’s Council meeting, Prince Rupert added our name to the list of communities that have named June Recreation and Parks month as part of a promotion led by the BC Recreation and Parks Association. The event is intended to highlight all of the different recreation programming and facilities we have in Prince Rupert, and encourage residents to enjoy them.
