Each year, the City of Prince Rupert provides updates regarding the City’s financial position through its Audited Financial Statements which are included in both the Statements of Financial Information, and the Annual Report. The Statement of Financial Information is required under the BC Financial Information Act which provides information on the City’s financial transactions. The Annual Report is provided in compliance with the Community Charter, and is the document that takes the opportunity to provide the citizens with financial and non-financial information regarding the operations of the Municipality during the calendar year. Since 2015, the Audited Financial statements of Prince Rupert Legacy Inc. are also located here. These are all backward looking financial documents.
Forward looking information is included in the Five Year Financial Plan which is required to be prepared annually under the Community Charter. The Property Tax rates are set based on the need identified in the Five Year Financial Plan.

The 2019-2023 Financial Plan Bylaw (which is the bylaw that approves the proposed budget for the year) is currently pending Council approval. Please see the document describing the proposed budget below.
The 2018 Annual Report, Audited financial statements for the City and Prince Rupert Legacy Inc and the Statement of Financial Information are pending development and Council approval. These items are completed and released each year in June for the previous year.
