The draft of the City’s new Official Community Plan is now being distributed to the public for feedback. A copy is linked below, and paper copies can be made available to you by emailing email@example.com or calling (250) 627 0934 to request one. Between September 14th-18th (next week), we are also providing opportunities for the public to meet with the Mayor and our contracted Planner at iPlan about the draft OCP. You can sign up for one of these meetings by contacting Executive Assistant, Brianne Bunko at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (250) 627 0934 to set up an appointment. Please note that COVID-19 precautions will be in place at these meetings, and those showing any symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID-19 are requested not to attend. An additional public consultation will also be scheduled before Council considers formally adopting a new plan.
As a reminder, the City also launched a second round of surveys in mid-August aimed at better understanding public opinion regarding the policy topics of infrastructure, climate change + GHG emissions, food systems/food security, and social services. See below for links to the surveys, which were also sent via mail to community households. If you haven’t filled them out already, the surveys will remain open until end of day September 11th, 2020. As a small thank you we will be giving ten $50 gift cards to ten randomly selected people that submit completed questionnaires
Surveys are available at: https://engage.princerupert.ca/official-community-plan-update
Thank you to all those who have already provided your valuable feedback to this process.
