Prince Rupert Archives

• The purposes of the Society are to acquire, preserve, identify, and make available to the public, archival records of enduring value related to the City of Prince Rupert and the surrounding region.
• To encourage the preservation and use of archival records in the community and to promote awareness of the value of its collections and services.

We collect records from the people, clubs, organizations, and businesses of the area, including Metlakatla, Port Simpson, Port Essington, Port Edward, and Anyox. Records include photographs and negatives; textual documents such as letters, minutes, membership lists, correspondence, contracts, etc.; sound and video recordings; maps; and newspapers.

If you wish to donate your archival records to the Archives, please call us. If you would like to research your home, your family, research a school project, or just browse through old photographs, we welcome you to come down and see us.

We are open 10:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
