Today, we curse Murphy’s Law. Sadly, the City has become aware that an aged service connection in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue West (in front of the Government Building) has failed, causing a minor leak beneath the new Highway 16 pavement. Thankfully, the paving crews are still in town and new pavement can be laid again once the repair is complete, with scheduling of that repaving dependent on weather.
City crews will begin working to repair the connection starting at 5 am tomorrow morning, with the goal to complete all required work as soon as possible but at the latest by Seafest. Updates will be posted with respect to the necessary repairs once crews begin digging and gather more information. Traffic will be redirected while construction is ongoing. Please obey all posted traffic signage and controllers. We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
