Tax Penalty Deadline of September 30th Approaching for Commercial, Light & Major Industry, and Not-For-Profit properties

Please be reminded that property taxes for Commercial/Light & Major Industry/Not-For-Profit properties  will have a 10% penalty applied if they are not paid by Wednesday, September 30th, 2020. This penalty date was adjusted by the Provincial Government for these (non-residential) classes of taxpayers this year in response to COVID-19, and was an extension of the usual penalty date that is otherwise applied in early July of each year.

The 2020 tax sale will be held on Monday September 28, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre Auditorium. Properties offered at the 2020 property sale are those for which there are taxes outstanding since 2018. Not all properties listed in the advertisement will be available on September 28th as in some case the taxes will be paid in the interim.

Did you know that the number one identified attractant for bears in BC is garbage? Please do not litter (especially food waste!), and ensure that garbage is either kept inside, or well-secured until garbage day.

90.1 (c) labour relations or other employee relations; and,

(g) litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality.

 

Swimming Pool Now Taking Advanced Bookings, Provides FAQ on What to Expect

Starting today, Tuesday, September 8th, the City’s Recreation Department is taking advanced bookings for the reopening of the swimming pool, which will be by registration only when it reopens September 14th. To help residents better understand and adapt to the changes at the pool, staff have developed a handy list of Frequently Asked Questions.
