The 2019 tax sale will be held on Monday September 30, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers. Properties offered at the 2019 property sale are those for which there are taxes outstanding since 2017. Not all properties listed in the advertisement will be available on September 30th as in some case the taxes will be paid in the interim.

Notice is hereby given that the COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE previously scheduled to be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 424 – 2 nd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, B.C. is hereby CANCELLED as no persons have put forward agenda items to the Corporate Administrator. Any persons who wish to present to council may forward their request to the Corporate Administrator for review and for consideration at the next scheduled meeting on Monday, October 21st, 2019.


Recreation Facilities See Youth Lounge Developed, Major Technical Improvements During Summer Closure

The City’s Recreation Department is unveiling a new Youth Lounge on the main floor of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre as a place for teens to come after school for programming or just to hang out. The soft opening will happen tonight at the Community Registration Evening that will showcase local recreational, cultural and community groups available in Prince Rupert from 5 pm – 7 pm in the auditorium.

Notice of Provincial Changes to Crosswalk at 2nd Ave and 3rd Street

Please be advised that the Province is removing one side of the double crosswalk at 2nd Avenue and 3rd Street (directly in front of Bank of Montreal), and has replaced it with one pedestrian controlled crosswalk. These improvements were made to improve pedestrian safety and traffic control in this area. Work is currently underway to complete this change, and residents should begin using the pedestrian controlled side of the sidewalk now.
