Get a Free Ride to the Polls with BC Transit

The City of Prince Rupert and BC Transit are pleased to offer free service on Saturday, October 20, making it easier for voters to get to the polls on municipal election day.


The free fare will apply on all routes, except 60 Port Edward and 99 Special.

Proposed Municipal Regulation of Cannabis Retail Information

As of October 17th, 2018, the use of recreational marijuana is legal in Canada, as per Federal regulation. In preparation, each Province has come up with their own legal framework to manage cannabis distribution and sales, and municipalities are now doing the same.

The questions below are intended to assist residents in understanding the Provincial cannabis retail application framework, as well as proposed municipal regulations.
