Annual Aquatic Centre Shut Down Commences July 1st

Tue, June 26, 2018

The City’s Recreation Department is looking forward to completing some much-needed repairs to the hot tub and Aquatic building during its annual shut down this year. User groups were consulted and summer months were chosen for the closure to reduce potential impacts. Unfortunately, due to the extent of repairs needed, this will be a longer closure than usual. The closure will commence July 1st, 2018 with an anticipated facility reopening in October.

Mckay Playground to Open early July

Tue, June 19, 2018

Residents – please be advised that the Mckay Street Park Playground remains closed while City crews conduct additional works to meet the standards set out by our municipal insurance agency.  There has been quite a bit of work done to level out and improve the area surrounding the playground, and we are nearing completion.  The City’s goal is to have it open to the public by July 6th, 2018.

Temporary Closure of Tot lot at Mariners

Wed, June 13, 2018

Residents, please be advised that Mariners tot lot will be closed from Friday, June 15th – June 22nd in order to permit warranty work on the rubber safety surfacing. It is very important that the surface be completely left alone while it cures, so we ask that all residents are respectful of the construction fencing barring entry to the playground. The City has contacted the RCMP as well to inform them of the work, and additional patrols will be added in this area to deter vandalism.
